Argo and his sister Kelsey were brought to us from an unsafe situation in Nevada City. They were rescued and transferred to Wildlife Images for permanent care. Since wolf hybrids typically do not make good pets, the rescuer sought out a home for the two low content hybrids where she knew they would be properly handled and cared for.
After winning the hearts of visitors for 6 years, we lost Kelsey to an aggressive form of cancer. Within months, Argo had two new pack mates. Rogue and Takelma adore Argo and the three made a good pack. Two years after Rogue and Takelma arrive their small pack grew again with the addition of Agnes. As a female, mid-content hybrid, Agnes and female, high content hybrid Rogue do not get along. Argo is enjoying his golden years by relaxing with the older, more mature, Agnes as his partner. In late 2019, Argo had a non-cancerous tumor removed. He recovered well and enjoys daily walks and meeting people during special events and the Mammal Meet & Greet Experience.
*Wolf Hybrids: Mix unknown. We don’t know what they were bred with or how many generations.
