Kodi and Yak are siblings that were orphaned near Soldotna, Alaska in 1991. It was suspected that a territorial male had killed their mother. When placed at our facility we started the process of rehabilitation, keeping them away from people so they would not imprint. Once they were old enough to be released, Alaska was contacted but the release was denied. Alaska Department of Fish and Game may have had administrative changes that lead them to deny the release request or it could have been a miscommunication, either way, they have been able to make a great impact with many people here at Wildlife Images.
