Yak enjoys the snow inside her enclosure.

The winter weather event during the late evening hours of January 15 and morning of January 16 brought considerable heavy, wet snowfall to Wildlife Images. Because of the rural, wooded location several trees and limbs have come down under the weight of the snow. According to protocol, staff immediately assessed the damage on the 24 acre property starting with the carnivore section of the park. Following a park-wide inspection Animal Services confirmed that all resident Animal Ambassadors and all wild patients were secure.

Damage includes secondary fencing and some damage to infrastructure. Clean up will last through the weekend and repairs may take several weeks. To ensure the safety of our guests, staff, and animals Wildlife Images will remain closed to the public until further notice. During this time limited hours for patient intakes will be offered from 9:00 – 12:00 but the park will not be open to guests.

We are incredibly grateful to all the people who have offered to help during this time of hardship. However, at this time we will be utilizing staff for the clean up and repairs needed. Financial support is gratefully accepted at any time but especially during misfortune.
