Members of the Grants Pass Kiwanis Club, in conjunction with the Grants Pass High Key Club and Project Youth+ got their hands dirty on Friday to help Wildlife Images staff and volunteers to clean up the enclosures for both Kodi and Yak, ahead of their 30th birthday party.
About 20 people from the three groups showed up to rake needles, clear blackberry bushes and — notably — clean out the muck from both bears’ pools.
Yak, specifically, likes to add more to her pool, including logs and other possessions from around the enclosure, making extra special work for those cleaning the pools.
The enclosures looked great, and the hard work helped improve the birthday party on Saturday.
Thanks to all three organizations for helping to make the birthday a success!
