Europe’s third-largest predator, the Eurasian lynx has a short body with long legs and snow-show like paws that are adapted for them to travel and hunt through the snow.
They have incredible eyesight, capable of spotting a mouse from 250 feet away. Their trademark tufts on their ears help improve their already great hearing.
The Eurasian lynx is a solitary animal, preferring dense forested areas that offer stalking and hiding opportunities for the hunt. They are listed as threatened due to habitat loss, with entire sub-populations in Europe nearly extinct for lack of habitat. Stable populations exist elsewhere throughout their range.
