Camp EEK! (Education, Environment and Kids) is for kids who are crazy about animals. Pack a lunch and join us for some of the coolest activities around during summer break and learn about wild animals up close and personal.
For children, ages *7 – 12, beginning Monday, June 17th is Wildlife Institute’s Camp EEK summer program kick off. One of the most amazing summer camp experiences in Southern Oregon for any child.
Camp EEK expands this year to 10 weeks, offering different activities each week. Campers will experience activities based on the following daily themes: Living Wild (wilderness and outdoor skills), Creepy Crawlies (nocturnal animals, invertebrates), Wild About Water (Salmon and watersheds), Legends of the Past (Oregon history, mining and mountain men, Native Americans) and Wildlife Detectives (wildlife science and investigation).
Campers will play games, create art and craft projects, build a shelter from natural materials, hike to a viewpoint by the river, learn to use a compass, experience encounters with wolves, bears and eagles and enjoy special guest speakers (from the Siskiyou Audubon Society, Josephine County Historical Society, Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribes of Indians, Search and Rescue and many more) as they share the history of the region, birding and botany. Reserve your place, as spaces are limited.
