Wildlife Images celebrates its volunteers

This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week at Wildlife Images, and we can’t thank ours enough.

Without our volunteers, Wildlife Images wouldn’t even be close to what it is today. They help out around the park in numerous ways.¬† We’ve been celebrating them all week, and we will cap the week with a dinner on Saturday with acknowledgments of all that they do.

Here are just some of the jobs our volunteers take on every week.

Park Guides

This group is one of our more public sets of volunteers. They love chatting with people, sharing stories and educating people about the amazing creatures that call Wildlife Images home. Park

Guides are around campus where they work with ambassadors, biofacts, and other hands-on items and present information to the public. These volunteers also help at our outreach programs and events.

Camp Volunteers

These volunteers love working with children and educating our future leaders and wildlife advocates at our Spring, Summer & Winter camps!

This limited position assists staff in caring for permanent resident animals. This can include diet prep, laundry, washing dishes, cleaning, helping create enrichment and special projects.

This is a dirty job as these volunteers assist in the daily care of our rat/mouse colony and help sort produce and meat from store donations.

Some of our volunteers like working with their hands. They help us maintain our facilities, construct new structures and animal enclosures and work on special construction and maintenance projects around our campus.

Another hands on job helps us keep the park looking wonderful. We have a beautiful 24-acre campus that needs many helping hands, and we are working on starting our own on-site vegetable garden to grow greens for some of our resident animals.
