Cheveyo was kept illegally for several years in extremely inhumane conditions. He was fed an inappropriate diet of table scraps and cooked meat. Additionally, the small cage he was kept in was so filthy that he developed severe urine burns and an incurable fungal infection. Luckily, he was confiscated by government officials and brought to Turtle Bay in Redding, CA. They worked on getting him healthy and socialized before transferring him here for permanent care.
