Kunanyi (“koo-nah-nyee”) and Togari came to us from Southland Safari in Yuma,
Tennessee when they were around seven months old. Their names come from words
in palawa kani, the revived language of Tasmanian Aborigines. Kunanyi means
‘mountain’, and Togari means ‘summit’ or ‘crown’. Slightly older than his
companion, Kunanyi is more confident and outgoing. To identify them, look at their
size and the color of their back feet. Togari is smaller and has less gray on his back feet
than Kunanyi. Both of our Bennett’s wallabies love snacks and exploring any new
spaces they encounter.
