Cinereous Vulture
Aegypius monachus

Animal Ambassadors
The Cinereous Vulture is native to Northern and Central Asia and parts of Southern Europe. While they are not yet classified as endangered, their numbers are dwindling in the wild. While Cinereous Vultures are known to breed within the Korean peninsula, China, and Mongolia, the harsh winters in their northern territory often drive them to migrate into parts of Southern China and all the way into the middle east. Like most vultures, the cinereous feeds on carrion, their nearly bald heads and very acidic stomachs help to minimize harmful bacteria.
