The Red-Tailed Hawk featured on this label was no ordinary bird. Her name was Happy, a fierce and vital part of Wildlife Images’ early history. Happy was a star, appearing in Buick commercials throughout the ’70s and ’80s. The funds generated through these commercials were instrumental in kickstarting our early wildlife rehabilitation and education programs and led to the formal incorporation of Wildlife Images as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1981.

Since then, Wildlife Images has rehabilitated and released thousands of wild animals back into their native habitats, provided critical care to countless others, and inspired generations through youth and adult education programs. This wine honors Happy’s legacy and her pivotal role in shaping our organization’s mission.

Years ago, a tiny stray kitten wandered into the enclosure of Griz, a 560-pound orphaned grizzly bear. Instead of harm, Griz offered the kitten a piece of chicken—and a lifelong bond was born.

Second Chance Chardonnay Honoring Phoenix, the Golden Eagle.

He was found near death, a fragile golden eaglet in the Oregon wilderness, rescued by a logger who saw something worth saving. That second chance changed everything.

Phoenix was taken in by Dave Siddon at Wildlife Images, and grew into a calm, intelligent, and inspiring presence. He spent his life not in the skies, but in classrooms and community programs, connecting with thousands of children and adults as a living ambassador for wildlife. His story became a beacon of hope — proof that even the most vulnerable among us can rise with care and compassion.
