We hope you’ll join us at Wildlife Images on September 7th to celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day!
Vultures often get a bad rap due to their scavenging habits, but they are truly remarkable birds that deserve our admiration. Many people think of vultures as ominous creatures, but in reality, they are nature’s clean-up crew. Join us to learn more about the important role vultures play in our ecosystem.
During our International Vulture Awareness Day event, you’ll have the chance to meet some of our resident vultures up close! You can meet Attila the cinereous vulture for the first time! You can sunbathe with Aurora the turkey vulture. You’ll also get to know our king vultures, Kia and Monty, who are known for their vibrant colors and striking appearance. We are looking forward to sharing more about them during keeper talks!
International Vulture Awareness Day is more than just an event; it’s a chance to spread awareness about the importance of these amazing birds and how we can help protect them. Whether you’re a bird enthusiast or just curious to learn more, there’s something for everyone. Come spend the day with us at Wildlife Images on September 7th and leave with a newfound appreciation for vultures—the unsung heroes of our ecosystem!
